Quick Tips to Keep Staff Safe in Your Cerritos Business
While many business in Cerritos,CA are finding it difficult to navigate these trying times, it is important to keep in mind the health and safety of your staff. Here are several tips to keep your place of business as clean as possible:
- Avoid Contact with Individuals Showing Symptoms
At first, symptoms may seem like a light head cold or allergies. However, COVID-19 symptoms are very similar to that of an ordinary cold. If you come into contact with an individual showing these symptoms refrain from touching your face and thoroughly wash your hands as soon as possible. It is also highly recommended to disinfect common areas regularly.
- Personal Protective Equipment
As there are varying degrees of personal protective equipment we recommend the following for any given scenario:
- Gloves- Regular latex gloves will suffice. When taking them off your hands, be sure to take them off without touching your bare skin. This can be done by pulling the inner-wrist section of the glove and pulling down towards your fingertips away from the body. If done correctly, this will turn the glove inside out. Use the first glove to protect your fingers as you follow the same technique for the other hand.
- Face Shield/Mask - Should a person be exhibiting symptoms and are unable to be dismissed from the place of business at the time, it is highly recommended that they wear a face shield or N95 mask to prevent contaminating others in the work place.
- Encourage Hand Washing
While it may seem somewhat elementary, it is highly effective! OSHA recommends "frequently wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. When soap and running water are unavailable, use an alcohol-based hand rub with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands that are visibly soiled."
By heeding these safety and cleanliness tips, you can help prevent further spread of any type of illness.
