Staying Safe Through the Remainder of the SoCal Summer
As the summer season nears a close, fire preparedness does not seem to be as serious of a concern. However, recent data from the California Department of Forestry & Fire Protection reveals otherwise. Scott McLean of the Department spoke on the Socal Statistics. "Last week, California faced scorching temperatures and extremely dry conditions, leading to over 275 new wildfires starting across all jurisdictions, with 227 of those starting within CAL FIRE’s jurisdiction. While the majority of those fires were kept under 10 acres, there were a few that did grow into larger incidents."
So how do you enjoy a safe rest of the summer here in Southern California? Our team has a few safety tips to share!
SoCal Fire Safety Tips
- Make sure your vehicles do not drag anything when in motion.
- Only use landscaping tools before 10AM and never have metal blades in contact with dry foliage.
- Avoid causing excess heat (with tools or machinery) especially in windy environments.
We wish you the safest and best conclusion to your Southern California Summer.
